Dear Friends, While we realize that it takes time to get to know your maid service attendant, or your own personal assistant or caregiver, here at our own MAID 4 YOU we really do have a wide range of talents that we bring with us to offer to you. We were raised in the small village of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, and our parents made sure that both a solid work ethic and high Christian moral values were a part of our lives. We know that both those values became a part of our lives just by being privileged to have our parents with us for so long as we did. And out of this relationship, both Christina and Lynn learned the joy of restoring and refinishing furniture, and have happily worked on such projects for years. Lynn also has the patience to cut in and paint to her heart's content, and she truly enjoys hanging wallpaper! But the thing that gives her the most pleasure is the fact that she is also very, very good at doing restorative woodwork! Lynn was blessed to work along side of our father for a longer period of time, and learned the patience and dedication it takes to really do a fine job on the small details of restoration of woodwork. "While I knew those times were precious with our dad, I don't think I'd realized just how fortunate it was that I could work alongside of him, until Christina and I moved to Fort Wayne three years ago (before we were able to buy our grandparents home here in Auburn)." "Most people are willing to tackle a great many things; and yet -when it comes to wood, or woodwork, I do find that most people are quite "terrified" (if I may use that word) to do much with it because they think that it is the hardest bit of anything to repair, or blend. But I find it is just a matter of common sense, and patience." "By working with Papa, I learned all about the various woods: oak, cherry, walnut, maple, pine ... even bass (it's wonderful for carving)! I learned the various wood grains; and of how to go with the wood grain; and I learned which weight of sand paper and steel wool to use in the polish and finishing phases. As well, by working with Papa, I learned all about polyurethanes: from a "satin" to the "bright finish"! I now know just how very advantageous it was to be able to work with Papa, so if you need even some small repair work done on your stairs, chair rail, banister, doors or walls -don't be afraid to ask! It will be my pleasure to make them like new!" "Thanks Papa!" Note: below is a photo of one of our father, Harold Richard Tritch (and his little "puppy" -Hoppy), and one of the Cathedral Clocks (that I have highlightened to show it off better) that our Papa began to make after he retired from 42 years of service at the Steuben County (Indiana) Farm Bureau Co-Op!
