From Lynn's view:

While all of the other services MAID 4 YOU offers are really very self-explanatory, here I desire to specifically address a rather overwhelming need that we have found in this area. This need concerns the group of individuals who require a health aid, or a P A (Personal Assistant) for their physical challenges. To me, nothing better represents such tender care than the image, thought or photo, of a gentle hand extended to give such service. I am not speaking about what is known as the up and coming "Elder Care" for the older generation, but serious health issues concerning individuals in all age ranges -and, from all walks of life.

Over and over again, we have found that Crohn's and ulcerative colitis patients need someone who can be a driver for all of their doctor's appointments, someone who can help load for TPN or enteral feeds, someone who can account for and keep accurate inventories of all their supplies, prepare ostomy and urostomy bags, skin barriers, flanges, the saline/glucose/vitamin bags as well as spike the lines, and can also go get their groceries and prescriptions.

Needed most of all are PA's who are willing to be enough of a friend that those going through such long battles can share their deepest griefs knowing they are allowed a place to vent while simply continuing to be loved and cared for. The particular battle of Crohn's/ulcerative colitis especially touches my heart as my sister, Christina, is in a fierce battle with both of these conditions. Yet, we still both believe that regardless of what we go through in life, we are meant to press through to become the person we were always meant to be, regardless of our physical challenges.

M.S. and/or A.L.S., and Parkinson's patients, and those with avascular necrosis, or osteonecrosis, also need such support and service, as well as the services of those who can be their hands and feet, and who have the time to give them a good massage to keep the nerve endings alive a little bit longer, or the blood flow as active as possible. Because so many conditions today result in a crippling or atrophying of the body, we are finding that those faced with such challenges almost always need to re-organize their homes so they can be made wheelchair accessible, and counter-height friendly.

Please know: I am not a nurse! I simply provide basic health preparation and equipment care, in the home. When you hire me, I will come in and "set up" for your type of patient care. You show me what you need done and how you want it done, I take copious notes, and you supervise me until you are assured I am completing the tasks you need taken care of as prescribed! As well, I am able to offer the personal touch of human contact. As my client, you teach me your needs as we go along. That way, in future, if and when you can not provide those needs for yourself, I (or someone else) is able to provide such care for you, and you will still be able to have the confidence that you can remain in your own home.

The reason I place this page here is because incorporated into such ongoing health related issues is the need for sterile housekeeping as well. Bathrooms and countertops must be kept as clean and sanitized as they can be kept -especially with TPN/ostomy patients.

If you need such care for the set-up of equipment, a driver to/from your doctor, someone to pick up your prescriptions for you -or you know of someone else with such a need (or someone who needs to have their home re-organized because of an advanced or advancing condition) please eMail me. I truly do understand, and will do my best to help you remain as active as possible!
